FROM THE PRESIDENT'S DESK The Chiang Mai Expats Club joins the people of Thailand in mourning the passing of Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Mahidol, the beloved eldest daughter of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn. Princess Bajrakitiyabha devoted her life to public service and to the betterment of Thai society. She was a distinguished legal scholar, diplomat, military officer, and
humanitarian, earning the respect and admiration of people throughout Thailand and around the world. Her work on behalf of justice, education, and the welfare of women and disadvantaged members of society reflected a deep commitment to serving others and improving their lives. Throughout her career, Her Royal Highness represented Thailand with dignity and grace. Whether serving in the legal profession, as a diplomat, or through her many charitable initiatives, she exemplified
the values of compassion, integrity, and selfless service. Her efforts to support women, particularly those seeking rehabilitation and a second chance in life, leaving a lasting impact that will be remembered for generations. This loss is especially poignant as Thailand continues to observe the official year of mourning following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, last October. The passing of another cherished member of the Royal Family adds to the
sorrow being felt across the nation. As expatriates privileged to live in Thailand, we’ve come to appreciate not only the warmth and generosity of the Thai people but also the respect they hold for their Royal Family. We recognize that this is a time of deep sadness for countless individuals throughout the Kingdom.
