FROM THE PRESIDENT'S DESK
Hello everyone...
This will be brief. I know I’ve said that before, and meant it, only to ramble on. Trust me, this time is different.
Let’s get the event calendar out of the way. The only thing on the immediate horizon is Saturday Breakfast at The Duke’s this Saturday,
the 7th, at the usual Ruamchok location. It should be a wonderful day, make your reservations now and join us. See below for more info and the reservation button.
The only thing I want to talk about today is our Annual Family Picnic, held last Saturday. I know we bounced the date around a bit before settling on the 31st, but it turned out to be a fantastic event. I want to congratulate our Events chair, Leigh, who took on the event for the first time
and did a terrific job. It’s not easy, I know. We had nearly 140 people there despite our concern that it was the second of two major events in 6 weeks, and we weren’t sure if that would affect attendance. It didn’t, and we appreciate the support.
I also want to thank The Duke’s for an outrageous BBQ buffet. They really outdid themselves and took what has previously been an outstanding buffet to an entirely new level. David Anichowski, the owner of The Duke’s
told me afterward that next year would be even better. Hard to believe, but count me in! Thanks David, and to your entire crew.
I also have to mention our friends at Rotary, who entertained us with balloon rides, a giant partially-inflated balloon for the kids to play in, and the always exciting and fun Golf Ball Drop to support children’s charities. Best of all, they sold more tickets this year than ever before…congrats!
That’s it,
I’m going to finish with some photos of the day. Enjoy the nice weather while it lasts, and please be safe.
