Enjoy Chiang Mai as the smokey season comes to an end
From the President's Desk
I want to acknowledge all the volunteers for the sterling work they are doing in aiding the recovery of the Club - thank you to all of you for the hard work that you are putting in to make the club work again. We will be highlighting volunteers in our future newsletters.
With the help of the volunteers, the Club is developing new and interesting programs to delight
and entertain you.
You will see the “Come Join Us at The Wine Connection” meet up on 6th May and details are further on in this newsletter.
The Club has the Expat Connect meeting (formerly General Meeting) on 24th May, when one of our main speakers will be
"The Rhythm of Life: How Music Enriches Our Golden Years" by Suman C. Tharan. With 33 years of experience calling Thailand home, he is not only a seasoned expat and also comes from the world of stage and film. It
is only in the past two years that Suman has taken us on a new, melodic adventure—singing! Interestingly, Suman has found that the timeless classics of icons like Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin resonate deeply with the cherished memories of Chiang Mai Expats Club older community.
Come and join us at both events and experience the newly transformed Chiang Mai Expats Club.
Enjoy the your week.

Don't miss out on the upcoming Saturday Breakfast at The Duke's - Ruamchok on May 3rd. Breakfast buffet runs from 9:30am - 11:30am. This is the best breakfast buffet in the city, with hand-carved meats, a fruit and salad bar, a waffle station, a dessert bar and all kinds of mouthwatering side dishes. It's no wonder the
breakfast sells out regularly. Come join us in a beautiful place for a morning with great food and good friends - you might even make some new ones.
Pricing is 345฿ if you make a reservation, 445฿ without a reservation.
If the breakfast is sold out those without reservations will be asked to remain outside until seating is available. Kids are only 245฿, and a coffee/tea only option is available for 100฿.
As we begin rebuilding the club's social event calendar, we would like to announce an exciting start!
The Wine Connection restaurant at Central Festival will host us for free. They have easy parking, a great selection of food and drinks for members to buy, and a separate area we can use. This is scheduled to be a regular event every Tuesday between 16:00 and 20:00 starting on 6th May, after the smoky season.
Christine Lyons has arranged for a host/ess to be present each time to get people mingling.
Please plan to join us! No reservations! No fees! Just come and socialize with your fellow expats in a delightful venue.

The Chiang Mai Expats Club (CEC) publishes various types of information for the purpose of helping fellow expats become acclimated and thrive in Chiang Mai. While we try to keep such information current and accurate, we do not have sufficient resources to provide assurance as to timeliness and accuracy.
