For those of you I have not yet met, my name is Rick Hahn; and I had the privilege of be elected today by the CEC Board as the club’s next president. Today’s message will be mercifully short. On behalf of all members, I want to thank Kent for his tireless efforts during his two-year term… and especially over the past 6 months since Dave’s passing. I am one of the very few people who saw firsthand how much time and effort he gave to the club during this really difficult period. We owe him a LOT…. Starting with a huge THANK YOU! I hope to be able to add value to the club during my tenure. I believe the CEC serves an important role in our community, and it’s up to all of us to keep it vibrant, fun, and relevant. I look forward to working with all of you to make that happen. Until next time….

Annual General Meeting - March 22
As we announced at the recent Annual General Meeting, we will be changing our meeting schedule from 10 times a year to 6 times a year, meeting every other month. We will also be renaming it, with the new name being announced after our February Board meeting. Our next meeting will be on March 22, 2025, at the Duangtawan Hotel. Tickets on sale now, use
the button below to purchase yours. Member early bird pricing of 190 baht ends March 12th, after which the regular member price is 240 baht. Non-members have early bird and regular prices as well, all tickets at the door are 350 baht. All ticket sales end at 6:00pm on March 21st. One of our featured speakers will be Dr. Peter Bell, who created the Children's Sight
Project many years ago to help needy children in the Chiang Mai area with vision problems, offering free exams and free corrective lenses for those who can benefit from them. Peter will deliver a concise overview of the past twelve months’ accomplishments of eyecare to the students in the Chiang Mai and Lamphun districts. The presentation will conclude with a brief Q&A
session, where participants will have the opportunity to win prizes from Bella Goose Coffee for answering simple questions correctly.
This is a new feature at our meetings, look for Christine Hall to learn what it's all about.
Prior to our most recent General Meeting, Chris Smith published a QR code for a LINE Health Group, which is available to all CEC members. We're leaving it here in the event anyone would like to take advantage of it.
Join the dedicated LINE Health Group to receive past presentation materials and join the discussion with fellow expats. Whether you're tech-savvy or just getting started, you'll come away with practical solutions for better managing your health in Thailand. To join, you must first log in to your LINE account, and then scan the QR code above to join the group.

A few months ago at our General Meeting, Chris Smith, who heads up the Geeks Club in Chiang Mai, and who is perhaps our longest tenured active member (#21 out of 2000+), started our Learning Series with an interesting and informative look at A.I. The presentation was videoed and we thought you might like to take a look at it, particularly if you were not there to experience it
in person. Enjoy!

Tax Filing and Personal Tax planning is still keeping American International Tax Advisers team busy during this time of year. Feel free to contact Chris by email or call 094-681-9734 for a free consultation. TestimonialThe AITax Advisers were knowledgeable about the unique challenges and requirements for expats, and they helped
me navigate the complexities of filing my taxes from abroad. They were also able to identify deductions and credits that I wasn't aware of, which ended up significantly reducing my tax bill.Overall, the process was much smoother than I anticipated, and I feel confident that my taxes were filed accurately and in compliance with all US tax laws. I will definitely be using this service again in the future and recommending it to other expats in my
network. |

The Chiang Mai Expats Club (CEC) publishes various types of information for the purpose of helping fellow expats become acclimated and thrive in Chiang Mai. While we try to keep such information current and accurate, we do not have sufficient resources to provide assurance as to timeliness and accuracy. We advise members to confirm the information for themselves.
