Please forgive me, this is a repeat of my message from last week. Hello everyone... I hope
those of you in Chiang Mai are enjoying the spectacular January weather. Yes, it’s pretty crisp in the morning, but come April you’ll wish it was January again, so make the most of it while you can! As the month winds down we have a couple of things coming up you won’t want to miss. The first is our Annual General Meeting on the 25th at the Duangtawan Hotel.
Coffee/tea and snacks begin at 9:45, along with the opportunity to talk to some of our sponsors. The formal meeting will begin at 10:30 with the 2024 Financial Report from Rick Hahn, and while I know everything else will be anticlimactic we’ll also take a look back at a tumultuous 2024 as well as a look forward to 2025. There are changes in store, we think you’re going to like them. The meeting will also include an education from Zach Price from Bella Goose Roastery, on how to make the best possible coffee at home. I don’t know about you, but it always seems coffee at other places is better than the coffee I make at home, I’m hoping Zach can change that. We’ll also have a visit from Thomas Carden, who will give us any latest
information on the looming new income tax laws, and answer any questions you may have. The next thing on the calendar is this year's first Saturday Breakfast at The Duke’s, on Feb 1st. The reservation list is filling up rapidly, don’t procrastinate or you might find yourself waiting outside for a seat to open up. While I’m at it, we’re seeing a ton of duplicate
reservations for the breakfast. If you think you may have made a reservation but aren’t sure, before you make another reservation please send a message to info@chiangmaiexpatsclub.com and ask us. It’s a lot easier for us to check than to deal with duplicate reservations. Thanks in advance for your help
on that. That’s it, I hope all is well, and please be safe. -Kent

There will be no survey for this week. Instead, here is a list of the top 5 vote- getters from the survey we ran to find a new name for our General Meeting. There is no clear winner, which means the Board will weigh the options and make a decision when it meets in February. Annual General Meeting - January 25
Our next meeting will be on January 25, 2025, at the Duangtawan Hotel. Because it's the first meeting of the year it's also our Annual Meeting, which will include a "State of the Club" message, a look ahead at 2025, and a financial report for 2024. We would also conduct elections, if necessary, but since we don't have more than 11 people seeking positions
on the Board no elections will be held. The meeting program will also include a visit from Zach Price, the Master Roaster at Bella Goose Roastery, who will educate us how to make a fantastic cup of coffee at home. Also, Thomas Carden will be on hand with any recent
developments in the impending income tax rollout, and to answer your questions. Tickets. are now on sale, use the button below to purchase your tickets.
This is a new feature at our meetings, look for Christine Hall to learn what it's all about.
Prior to our most recent General Meeting, Chris Smith published a QR code for a LINE Health Group, which is available to all CEC members. We're leaving it here in the event anyone would like to take advantage of it.
Join the dedicated LINE Health Group to receive past presentation materials and join the discussion with fellow expats. Whether you're tech-savvy or just getting started, you'll come away with practical solutions for better managing your health in Thailand. To join, you must first log in to your LINE account, and then scan the QR code above to join the group.

A few months ago at our General Meeting, Chris Smith, who heads up the Geeks Club in Chiang Mai, and who is perhaps our longest tenured active member (#21 out of 2000+), started our Learning Series with an interesting and informative look at A.I. The presentation was videoed and we thought you might like to take a look at it, particularly if you were not there to experience it
in person. Enjoy!

Tax Filing and Personal Tax planning is still keeping American International Tax Advisers team busy during this time of year. Feel free to contact Chris by email or call 094-681-9734 for a free consultation. TestimonialThe AITax Advisers were knowledgeable about the unique challenges and requirements for expats, and they helped
me navigate the complexities of filing my taxes from abroad. They were also able to identify deductions and credits that I wasn't aware of, which ended up significantly reducing my tax bill.Overall, the process was much smoother than I anticipated, and I feel confident that my taxes were filed accurately and in compliance with all US tax laws. I will definitely be using this service again in the future and recommending it to other expats in my
network. |
