SPOTLIGHT on one of our Affiliated Clubs
What’s that, you say. Well, do you love singing? It’s a choir who sing bass, tenor, alto and soprano parts. This is the friendliest group you will meet where all nationalities are welcome. They already have participants from Japan, China, Thailand, North America and Europe. Peter is the Choirmaster and he is simply wonderful. He puts his heart and soul into the organising and conducting and will always
bring a smile to your face. The group often hosts Singalongs at Aged Care Homes where everyone leaves with a smile on their face. Come along and see what it’s all about. Thursdays at 1.30pm at Thamma Pratheep Church, 29 Thanuspong Alley Google Maps link: https://maps.app.goo.gl/7823pD8Qha73sSoQA Email Peter: jpspringer@gmail.com

A place to visit in Chiang Mai?Huay Tung Tao Lake. It's one of the hidden gems of Chiang Mai! This lake is a well-known spot for both locals and tourists, offering a peaceful natural environment. It’s located about 15 kilometers northwest of Chiang Mai city, near the foothills of Doi Suthep mountain. It’s about a 30-minute
drive from Chiang Mai city center. The road is well-maintained and easy to navigate. The lake is artificial, created by a dam and surrounded by scenic views of mountains and forest. It's much smaller than the Mae Ngat Dam but is still very popular for its beauty and calm atmosphere. Activities and Attractions: Relaxation and Picnic: Huay Tung Tao is a fantastic spot for relaxation, where visitors can enjoy picnics by the water. There are
grassy areas and shaded spots ideal for lying back and enjoying the views. Boating: While the lake is relatively small, boating is a popular activity. You can rent pedal boats or take a simple boat ride around the lake for a tranquil experience. Walking and Cycling: The area around the lake is perfect for walking or cycling. The scenic routes along the shores and through the surrounding forest are great for nature walks. Art
and Culture: The area around the lake features several traditional-style bamboo huts and structures. Some visitors also enjoy taking pictures of the area, especially the unique giant bamboo huts set up for picnics and gatherings. Swimming: In the warmer months, some visitors choose to swim in the lake, though the water quality can vary. Always check for cleanliness before diving in. There are several local restaurants around the
lake, most of which serve Thai food and offer beautiful lakefront dining experiences. Some have floating wooden platforms where you can sit and eat while enjoying the view of the water. It is quite an experience! You’ll often see picnic huts where families or groups can set up their own food and relax by the water.
