Greetings to all of you. Sadly (for me anyway) the warm weather is returning. January is my favorite month here; and I am very glad we were able to hold the picnic last month. I do have some news to share. First, we will be making some changes to the General Meeting. Our objective is to make the gathering more interesting and more valuable to a larger audience. - It occurred to us that, while functional, the name “General Meeting” is about as boring and unexciting as we could choose. :-). While there is
occasionally some actual business we need to conduct; these meetings are really about getting us together to have fun and to learn about interesting things here in our adopted country. Accordingly, the new name will be Expat Connection. Thanks to Phillip Dawson for submitting this!
- In order to keep these meetings “fresh” and ensure we have consistently good speakers we will host Expat
Connections 6 times per year rather than 10.
- We will continue to meet at the Duangtawan.
- Stay tuned for more subtle changes coming with the intention of increasing interaction among our members.
Next, we will soon announce a new weekly
activity. This will simply be a weekly morning get together for anyone who wants to come for coffee. No reservations/ no tickets/ no entrance fee. Just whoever wants to show up. We are currently finalizing a venue and a time, and will let you all know when all the details are settled. Finally, in Kent’s last President’s Message, he discussed wanting - and needing - more help from the
membership. This is really important. We are currently preparing written descriptions of the functions we need help with. We will share these with all of you in the next week or so, with the hope that members will realize these are not overly time consuming and will decide to help.
An analogy that comes to mind is a rowing team. When several folks row in unison the workload is easily shared and the
boat moves in a straight line. But if not enough people row, then the boat doesn’t go where it needs to be, and the few rowers are overwhelmed. More about this soon.
Have a great week!
Rick

A few months ago at our General Meeting, Chris Smith, who heads up the Geeks Club in Chiang Mai, and who is perhaps our longest tenured active member (#21 out of 2000+), started our Learning Series with an interesting and informative look at A.I. The presentation was videoed and we thought you might like to take a look at it, particularly if you were not there to experience it
in person. Enjoy!

Tax Filing and Personal Tax planning is still keeping American International Tax Advisers team busy during this time of year. Feel free to contact Chris by email or call 094-681-9734 for a free consultation. TestimonialThe AITax Advisers were knowledgeable about the unique challenges and requirements for expats, and they helped
me navigate the complexities of filing my taxes from abroad. They were also able to identify deductions and credits that I wasn't aware of, which ended up significantly reducing my tax bill.Overall, the process was much smoother than I anticipated, and I feel confident that my taxes were filed accurately and in compliance with all US tax laws. I will definitely be using this service again in the future and recommending it to other expats in my
network. |
