Hello everyone… It occurs to me that there’s a better way for communicating with the club than sending everything to info@chiangmaiexpatsclub.com and waiting for it
to be sorted out. It only creates extra work for us, and right now we’re stretched so thin you can probably see through us. I’ve decided it would be much easier and effective for everyone to be able to communicate directly with the appropriate person or committee, so here’s a list of them. This information will be also be published in a separate section in future newsletters. We have a mailbox for each of our elected
officers: - president@chiangmaiexpatsclub.com - goes directly to the current club president
- treasurer@chiangmaiexpatsclub.com. - goes directly to to the current club treasurer
- secretary@chiangmaiexpatsclub.com - goes directly to the current club secretary (position is presently vacant)
We also have mailboxes for those committees that need
them: - programs@chiangmaiexpatsclub.com - for anything related to our General Meetings.
- media@chiangmaiexpatsclub.com
- for anything related to our website or our Facebook page.
- newsletter@chiangmaiexpatsclub.com - for anything related to the weekly newsletter. This is the ONLY address to use when submitting anything for inclusion in the newsletter, such as sponsor ads, local group notices, important information
to pass on from your embassy or consulate, photos, cartoons, jokes, or anything else you wish to submit for publication. The final decision on whether or not to include any submission rests with the Editor. PLEASE NOTE: ads, photos, cartoons or other images must be in either .jpg, .png, or .gif format, file size must be less than 10MB, and the maximum width is 1200 pixels. Items submitted that do not follow these guidelines will not be
published.
- info@chiangmaiexpatsclub.com - for anything that does not fit in one of the buckets above.
Before I finish, don’t forget the General Meeting this coming Saturday the 23rd, or the next Breakfast at The Duke’s on December 7th. Buttons for
General Meeting tickets and Breakfast reservations are below. That’s it, I hope all is well, and please be safe. -Kent

CEC Annual Picnic/BBQ Jan. 4, 2025
The recent record-setting floods in Chiang Mai took a severe toll on ticket sales for the annual Picnic/BBQ, originally scheduled for November 2. After a survey of our members, discussions with our hosts at Horizon Village Resort, and finally a meeting of the Board of Directors, it was decided to postpone the event until January 4,
2025. The bright side is the holidays will be over, our seasonal members should be at a peak, and we can expect fabulous weather. One of our Board members commented that maybe we should always have it in January, and that might not be such a bad idea. If you have
purchased a ticket for this event and want to use it in January you don’t need to do a thing, we will automatically honor it on the 4th. If you will not be able to attend just email us at info@chiangmaiexpatsclub.com and request a refund. We regret the sudden change, it was simply the right thing to do under the circumstances. We appreciate your understanding and
look forward to seeing you in January! Get your tickets now and save. Members and Non-members alike save 150 baht per ticket when purchased by December 27th, use this button to buy your tickets and join us on January 4th.
General Meeting - November 23rd
The Duangtawan Hotel has confirmed their repairs are complete and our meeting on November 23 is good to go. Our first featured speaker will be Max Summer, a Chiang Mai resident for nearly 30 years, coming here from Singapore as a teenager. Nine years ago Max and his wife established The Care108 Foundation, which focuses
primarily on helping local children in need with medical care. His presentation to us is on a different subject however, which he titles "Chiang Mai Flood Tale Over the Decades", and draws on his many years of dealing with flooding in the city, certainly a timely topic after what we've just been through. Also joining us is long-time Chiang Mai resident Chris Smith, who presents 'Health in Your Pocket: Smart Tech Solutions for
Expat Living.' Drawing from over 20 years of experience as a British expat in Chiang Mai, Chris will demonstrate how modern technology can transform your own expat healthcare and wellness in Thailand.
In this interactive session, you'll discover practical applications of everyday technology to monitor and manage your health. Learn how your smartphone can become a powerful health companion, from tracking vital signs with digital devices to translating
medical information between Thai, Chinese, and English using AI tools and Assistants . Chris will demonstrate these solutions using his iPad, covering everything from telemedicine and AI to online support communities and local pharmacy navigation.
Perfect for retirees and expats at all tech levels, this presentation will show you step-by-step how to use some of these tools effectively. A Q&A session will follow, giving you the chance to get
your specific questions answered and, more importantly, give you the opportunity to share your own experiences.
Join our dedicated LINE Health Group before the session to receive presentation materials and continue the discussion with fellow expats. Whether you're tech-savvy or just getting started, you'll come away with practical solutions for better managing your health in Thailand. Log in to your Line account and scan the QR code above to join the
group. The morning begins at 9:45am with coffee/tea and delicious snacks. Visit with friends, meet new ones, and take the opportunity to talk with some of our sponsors. The meeting itself begins at 10:30am. By the way, we know this falls on the same day as the City Fair, so we'll try and end a little early to make it easier for those who wish to attend that event as well. Use the ticket button below to purchase your
tickets, and we'll see you there!

The next Saturday Breakfast will be here before we know it, and it's never too early to make your reservations. November was a sellout and December will undoubtedly be the same, which means anyone without a reservation will not be seated until space becomes available. It could be a long wait. A reservation also
saves you some money so please use the button below to reserve your seat(s) now. Pricing is 345 with a reservation, 445 at the door and subject to waiting for available space. Kids 12 and under are always 245. They also need a chair, so be sure to include your kids in your reservation. As usual, we realize plans often change, so if you make a reservation and then are unable to attend, please send a quick email to info@chiangmaiexpatsclub.com and give us the full names of those on your reservation who will not be able to make it. As long as you send it by 9:00am the morning
of the breakfast you’ll avoid the penalty box! Thanks in advance for your cooperation, it makes it possible for others to enjoy the breakfast.
Expat Ladies Lunch Reminder Sorry, no details yet on the next Ladies Luncheon, but here's a great photo from their most recent luncheon at Khun Mor Cuisine.

Member Photography, Poetry and Humor Haiku and photo by Olga Leskiw-Suzuki
A few months ago at our General Meeting, Chris Smith, who heads up the Geeks Club in Chiang Mai, and who is perhaps our longest tenured active member (#21 out of 2000+), started our Learning Series with an interesting and informative look at A.I. The presentation was videoed and we thought you might like to take a look at it, particularly if you were not there to experience it
in person. Enjoy!
Tax Filing and Personal Tax planning is still keeping American International Tax Advisers team busy during this time of year. Feel free to contact Chris by email or call 094-681-9734 for a free consultation. TestimonialThe AITax Advisers were knowledgeable about the unique challenges and requirements for expats, and they helped
me navigate the complexities of filing my taxes from abroad. They were also able to identify deductions and credits that I wasn't aware of, which ended up significantly reducing my tax bill.Overall, the process was much smoother than I anticipated, and I feel confident that my taxes were filed accurately and in compliance with all US tax laws. I will definitely be using this service again in the future and recommending it to other expats in my
network. |

The Chiang Mai Expats Club (CEC) publishes various types of information for the purpose of helping fellow expats become acclimated and thrive in Chiang Mai. While we try to keep such information current and accurate, we do not have sufficient resources to provide assurance as to timeliness and accuracy. We advise members to confirm the information for themselves.
