Well, the rainy season is getting off to a great start. What’s left of super typhoon Yagi, which wreaked havoc on southern China and Vietnam, is now moving over northern Thailand, and Chaing Mai is directly in it’s path. Couple that with a storm coming in off the Andaman Sea to the west, and it makes for an
interesting and very wet couple of days. Considering the Ping River was much higher than normal just a few days ago, this kind of sustained rain could spell trouble, so for those of you here in Chiang Mai, please be very careful, especially if you’re driving.
I wanted to bring your attention to a couple of things regarding the upcoming US elections. First, right below this week's survey is some information sent to me by
the US Consulate regarding a workshop on September 20th about voting. You can attend in person or by Zoom, so if you’re interested or need some assistance you might want to consider it. Additionally, they remind us the cutoff day to drop off ballots at the Consulate in Chiang Mai is October 4th. We’re also looking into getting a ballot box dropped off for our General Meeting on September 28th, as I get further information I’ll certainly share it with
you.
I should point out that I get information from the US Consulate because I’m an American. If you’re from another country and get official information pertinent to Chiang Mai expats, I will certainly pass it on here if you send it to me. The address for such things is newsletter@chiangmaiexpatsclub.com.
The last thing I want to touch on is the End of Life videos now
available through the website. Below you’ll find information on how to get them, I highly encourage you to check it out. I attended the EOL seminars this past February and not only was it incredibly informative, it was also eye-opening. Trust me, if you live in Thailand there is way more to know about it than you think, don’t bring unnecessary grief and hardship to your loved ones by overlooking it. If you attended the seminars the videos are free, if you didn’t it’s
probably the best 1000 baht you will ever spend.
That’s it for this week, I hope all is well, and please be safe.

We have 2 guest speakers this month, our own Rick Hahn and Dr. Niratchada Sap-Anan, from Bangkok Hospital.
Rick is on the board of the CEC. He heads up the Media Committee and also spearheaded the Prepare for End of Life in Thailand
program. Prior to retirement, Rick was a tech CEO who managed in companies ranging from start-ups to $1 billion in revenue; software to manufacturing; and in disciplines from Sales and Marketing to Finance and International. Our education learning series continues with Rick speaking about one of his favorite new toys…“3 Simple Ways To Make Your Life Easier With AI”.
Dr. Niratchada Sap-Anan, is a Sleep Medicine and Neurology
specialist at Bangkok Hospital. Many of you may recall a previous speaker who talked to us about insomnia, and the resulting vigorous Q&A that followed led us to believe there was great interest in sleep issues and disorders. That led us to Bangkok Hospital and Dr. Niratchada, whom many of our members already know and trust, who will speak about the critical and often misunderstood subject of sleep.

Tax Filing and Personal Tax planning is still keeping American International Tax Advisers team busy during this time of year. Feel free to contact Chris by email or call 094-681-9734 for a free consultation.
Testimonial
The AITax Advisers were knowledgeable about the unique challenges and requirements for expats, and they helped
me navigate the complexities of filing my taxes from abroad. They were also able to identify deductions and credits that I wasn't aware of, which ended up significantly reducing my tax bill.
Overall, the process was much smoother than I anticipated, and I feel confident that my taxes were filed accurately and in compliance with all US tax laws. I will definitely be using this service again in the future and recommending it to other expats in my
network.
